Banquet Lamp w Bent Glass Shade
The skills of blacksmiths were very evident in wrought iron banquet oil lamps like this one and the lovely vintage bent glass shade compliments it perfectly.
The textured amber bent glass of the shade is a good match for the golden bronze finish on the lamp.
A similar lamp to this one is shown on page 63 fig. (b) of Catherine Thuro’s first book “Oil Lamps – The Kerosene Era in North America”.
This wrought iron kerosene lamp has been fully restored.
The removable Bradley and Hubbard centre draught slip font is in full working order including a wick, a flame spreader and a new chimney.
There is no doubt that this lamp makes quite a statement and it is sure to be a conversation starter in your home.
