Antique Banquet Lamp c.1895
Antique Florentine Copper Banquet Lamp
The detail in this antique banquet lamp (circa 1895) is quite exceptional.
From the intricate floral pattern of the font holder, through to the goats heads and cameos decorating the stem and on to the cherub faces on the footed base, this lamp is extremely detailed and very elegant.
The elegance and appeal of this banquet oil lamp is further enhanced by the Florentine copper finish.
The lamp is fitted with an Edward Miller & Co “Meteor” removable or “slip” oil font which has patent dates of 1892 and 1893.
Finally, the cranberry tinted rim and the classical Torch and Wreath etched decoration on the new globe shade compliments the kerosene banquet lamp perfectly.
Condition
This beautiful antique banquet oil lamp is in exceptionally good condition for a lamp of this age. While it is in very good condition, it isn’t without one small problem. One of the goats has lost a horn but it is barely noticeable and only mentioned for accuracy.
The font is in full working order and is fitted with a wick, a flame spreader and a new chimney.
