It is easy to identify this antique lamp as a Sears oil lamp by the brass work. The extended brass collar and the brass connectors above and below the stem section have the distinctive embossed pattern of swirled or straight ridges. This is characteristic of the composite lamps shown in the Sears, Roebuck & Co. catalogue of 1897.

The bulbous stem section is made of opal glass which has been hand painted with a floral motif over a background wash of pale pink at the top fading to white at the bottom.

The clear glass font has an all over pattern of diamonds and fans and the base is black painted cast iron.

A new burner, wick and beaded top chimney complete the antique oil lamp.

Overall, this antique Sears oil lamp is in excellent condition and will be a beautiful addition to your home or your collection.
