Blue Flow Stem Oil Lamp

Product code - 0454
Sold on 10th March 2013

This antique composite oil lamp dates to the 1870s and has a blue flow stem with a makers mark similar to the Meissen mark but which, as yet, we have been unable to identify.

The decoration on the font was made by first roughening the glass on a lathe then cutting the surface with a wheel to produce the simple but attractive cut to clear design.

The tapered brass connectors make this lamp one of the more elegant composite kerosene lamps to be found.
