Lyre and Scroll Font Lamp
The pattern on the glass font of this antique composite kerosene lamp is called Lyre and Scroll.
The base of the oil lamp is raw cast iron which has been thoroughly cleaned and then lacquered to protect the surface from oxidation.
The font suits the rounded cast iron base nicely.
This style of oil lamp was popular in the early 1880s.
The lamp is fitted with a vintage burner and a new wick and chimney.
