The scene depicted on the stem of this antique red transferware lamp is of old buildings and street scapes. The decoration is detailed and quite intricate. The addition of a patterned border around the top of the stem adds to the overall appeal. There are a couple of small spots of discolouration on the stem but nothing more than would be expected due to age and usage.

The colourless glass font has been roughened on a lathe to produce a frosted effect on the highlights. The extended brass collar dates it to the 1870s – 1880s.

The octagonal, black painted cast iron base is nicely decorated with bands of patterns on each step.

Finally, a new burner, wick and beaded top chimney complete the antique kerosene lamp.

Overall, this antique red transferware lamp is in excellent condition with out any chips, cracks or damage of any kind and will be a great addition to your home or your collection.
