Adams and Co. Bradford Oil Lamp
This antique oil lamp is the “Bradford” design and was made by Adams and Co. of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania circa 1885.
It has a plain font without any pattern and an architectural style base which is reminiscent of churches and colonnades.
The lamp is shown on page 262 fig. (d) of Catherine Thuro’s first book “Oil Lamps – The Kerosene Era in North America”.
Both the kerosene lamp and the chimney have the small air bubbles and straw marks common to old glass, but the chimney would not be as old as the lamp.
The lamp is fitted with a vintage burner and wick. A new wick will be included.
The overall condition of this Adams and Co “Bradford” oil lamp is very good. There are no chips, cracks, staining or damage of any kind and only minimal signs of usage.
This antique kerosene lamp will make a lovelyaddition to your home or your collection.
