Australian Glass Kero Lamp
Product code - 0654CCGS
This lovely little lamp is an Australian glass kero lamp.
The simple lines and the diminutive size of this sweet little lamp are very appealing. It is most likely that it would have been used as a bedroom lamp. Small enough to be easily carried with a stem that is a nice comfortable hand’s width tall and a broad base for stability.
There aren’t any identifying marks but it is most likely that it was made by Crown Crystal Glass, Sydney. It is nice to see one that has a different pattern to the Late Petal and Greek Key lamps that are usually seen.
It is hard to be certain of a date of manufacture but we feel it might be closer to the 1950s than the 1930s.
Overall, this Australian glass kero lamp is in excellent condition. There are some manufacturing straw marks on the stem but this is as it was made. There is also some good honest shelf wear on the underside of the base. Both of these things are what should be expected for a lamp of this age.
Finally, a new burner and chimney complete this kerosene lamp.
We are sure this lovely little kerosene lamp will be a wonderful addition to your home or your collection.
