Bullseye Fine Detail Stand Lamp
The “Bullseye Fine Detail” has always been a very popular oil lamp.
They were produced in Canada during the late 1890s and were available in clear, opaque blue and this beautiful emerald green.
There were also many sizes and forms to choose from. There were four different styles of finger lamps and three sizes of stand lamps. This is one of the smaller stand lamps.
In her first book “Oil Lamps – The Kerosene Era in North America”, Catherine Thuro devotes a full page (page 270) to these lamps and their various colour combinations and pattern variations.
This “Bullseye Fine Detail” kerosene lamp is in excellent condition and is complete with a new burner, a new wick and a new chimney.
The quality and depth of colour of the emerald green glass and the detail of the pattern in this lamp make it one of the most attractive and appealing lamps we have seen.
The ideal place to display this lamp is in a position where it will have some back lighting from a window. Nothing shows off the beautiful rich colour of this antique oil lamp better than natural light.
