There is no doubt about where this citrine vaseline glass lamp was made.

It is definitely Australian circa 1930 and was made by Crown Crystal Glass Company, Sydney. It still retains its original burner with the company name on the thumb wheel.

Crown Crystal Glass Company formed in 1926 when The Balmain Glass Works, The Crown Glass Works, The Crystal Glass Works, and The Zetland Glass Works were merged into one company by The Australian Glass Manufacturers Co. Ltd. The new company continued to manufacture a variety of glass products for the Australian market until it merged with the American company Corning in the 1972, to become Crown Corning.

This lovely finger lamp is the larger of the two sizes that were produced. The citrine or citron vaseline glass is decorated with the “Daisy” pattern and the applied handle has a ribbed pattern.

The vaseline glass lamp glows beautifully when exposed to ultra violet light.

The kerosene lamp has a brass collar and is fitted with an original burner, a new wick and a vintage chimney.

Overall, this is a lovely citrine vaseline glass lamp and it is in excellent condition apart from the expected wear on the base.

Height to the top of the burner – 13cm (5″)

Height to the top of the chimney – 30.5cm (12″)

Diameter of the font – 10cm (4″)

Width of the lamp (including handle) – 14cm (5.5″)
