This green glass finger lamp is a bit of a mystery to us.

We found it in a reference book that suggested it was German or Belgian circa 1910 but we’re not so sure that it did originate in either country. The main reason is that the majority of the lamps we have seen from that region take a Kosmos burner rather than a flat wick burner.

The collar is more like those used in North America but the style of the lamp and the colour of the green glass just doesn’t have quite the right look to be from there.

It could be Australian but we would expect to have come across a lot more of them if it was.

As we said, a bit of a mystery.

The kerosene lamp has a brass collar and is fitted with a vintage burner, wick and chimney.

Overall, this is still a very nice green glass finger lamp and it is in excellent condition apart from the expected small amount of wear on the base.

Height to the top of the burner – 14.5cm (5.75″)

Height to the top of the chimney – 30cm (11.75″)

Diameter of the font – 11cm (4.25″)

Width of the lamp (including handle) – 12.5cm (5″)
