Original Half Shade Parlor Lamp
This half shade parlor lamp has an understated appeal. The combination of finely detailed transfers and subtle hand painting combine to create a very attractive antique oil lamp.
The parlor lamp dates to the 1890s and there is no doubt that the shade and vase are original to each other. The colours and the style of the decorations are identical on both parts. The only differences in the decorations are the scenes depicted. On the shade it shows a group of women on the beach gathering something into large baskets whereas the vase shows a sailing boat.
The embossed pattern around the top of both the shade and vase also indicate that they are original to each other.
The parlor lamp has a brass centre draught slip font complete with a wick, a flame spreader and a new chimney.
Overall, the lamp is in exceptionally good condition. There are no signs of chips, cracks, paint loss or damage of any kind.
This lovely antique half shade oil lamp will be a wonderful addition to your home or perhaps you would like to add it to your collection.
