Amethyst Glass Finger Oil Lamp
We are unsure of the age of this sweet amethyst glass finger oil lamp.
It appears to be hand blown as there are no mould lines and it has many of the attributes of an antique glass lamp. That said though, the pontil mark is so smooth it is almost non-existent and there are no signs of any shelf wear. There again, the collar has developed a patina that generally only comes with age.
The lamp could have been made recently or it could have been made in the 1940s but hardly used. Sometimes it is just so hard to be completely certain.
Regardless of its age, the beautiful amethyst colour of the glass coupled with the size and shape of this lamp make it a very attractive and appealing lamp.

As previously mentioned, the glass is undamaged without any chips, cracks or damage of any kind.
The chimney and is also in excellent condition. It doesn’t have a rolled bottom edge and the beaded top is very well defined, indicating that it has a little age to it. It is hard to be sure when it was made but it certainly isn’t of very recent manufacture.
