Kerosene Table Lamp with Shade

Product code - 0550
Sold on 20th July 2015

We believe this antique kerosene table lamp dates to the first quarter of the 20th century.

It has all the hallmarks of an English table lamp except for the Kosmos style burner. Usually, English lamps were fitted with single or duplex flat wick burners whereas these Kosmos style burners were more commonly seen on oil lamps from the continent.

The shade arrangement is also more like those seen on European kerosene table lamps.

That said, this is still a lovely lamp with delicate hand painted floral decorations around the opaque blue glass font.

The simple opal glass shade compliments it nicely and the frilled top adds to the overall appeal of the antique kerosene table lamp.
