Australian Aladdin Family Lamp

This is an Australian Aladdin family lamp (Model 1630).

It features a turned timber stem and a dark brown Bakelite font. The font is in excellent unmarked condition and it still retains the original Bakelite filler cap.

The black painted steel base is the wide Australian style, rather than the narrower UK version.

The kerosene mantle lamp is fitted with a brass Model B burner. The burner is in good working order and includes a wick, flame spreader and a new chimney. In order to burn properly, the lamp requires a mantle. The lamp is not currently fitted with a mantle due to their fragile nature. A new mantle will be supplied if required.

The cased glass rib shade is a modern replacement. The best way to describe the outer colour of the shade is “Peanut Brittle” and it suits the lamp perfectly. Being a darker colour cased over white, it will focus more of the light downwards so making it ideal for reading, writing and other pursuits that need good light.

This Australian Aladdin family lamp is in excellent restored condition without any damage of any kind.

It would be ideally suited to a den, study or office.
