Australian Bakelite Aladdin Lamp

The Model 1630 (Family) all Bakelite Aladdin Lamp is unique to Australia. It was only produced at the Sydney manufacturing plant between 1944 and 1952.

This example is in excellent original condition and even retains the Aladdin sticker on the font and the correct bakelite filler cap.

The dark brown bakelite is in perfect condition without any chalking, breaks, chips or damage of any kind.

The chimney is an Aladdin branded replacement.

The Log Cabin design parchment shade is also genuine Aladdin but not original to the lamp. We estimate that it is about 10 – 15 years old. There are a couple of lines on the back of the shade that look like it may have been rubbing on something but they are only noticeable in the right light and only mentioned for accuracy.

The lamp is fitted with a Model B burner in good working order and complete with a flame spreader and wick.

In order to burn correctly and to provide the maximum amount of light, the burner needs to be fitted with a mantle. Due to the fragile nature of the mantles, this bakelite Aladdin lamp is not fitted with one but a mantle will be supplied if wanted.
