Zipper Loop Footed Finger Lamp
Zipper Loop oil lamps were made by Imperial Glass Co. in the early 20th century. The entire range of Zipper Loop lamps were mould blown rather than machine made. They are shown in the company’s 1909 catalogue in seven different sizes of stand lamp and three sizes of finger lamps. This example is the middle sized finger lamp in clear glass. These lamps were also made in Carnival glass in marigold and smoke.
Finger lamps like these were commonly used as bedtime lamps. The finger handle made them easy to carry and being smaller than stand lamps they were also more convenient to use.
