This antique kerosene parlor lamp dates to the 1890s. There is no doubt that the vase and shade are original to each other as the motifs and the embossed pattern in the glass are identical on both parts.

The only differences in the decorations are the scenes depicted. On one side it shows a set of steps leading to a terrace overlooking a lake and mountains. On the other side it shows a bridge across a waterway with a mountain in the background.

The hand coloured transfer decoration is subtle and understated and the inclusion of crystal prisms hanging from the shade holder gives this antique parlor oil lamp an added dimension. Just imagine the wonderful effect created when light hits the prisms and reflects around your room.

The antique kerosene parlor lamp has a brass centre draught slip font complete with a wick, a flame spreader and a new chimney.

Overall, the lamp is in exceptionally good condition. There is a repair to a small chip on the shade fitter but it isn’t visible once the shade is sitting in the holder. Other than that, there are no signs of chips, cracks, paint loss or damage of any kind.

This lovely antique kerosene parlor lamp will be a wonderful addition to your home or perhaps you would like to add it to your collection.
