Antique Parlour Lamp circa 1900
This half shade antique parlour lamp is one of the most unusual ones we have seen. The all over green scroll work pattern is actually debossed into the glass and the design seems to have an Indian or Islamic influence.
It is difficult to accurately date this antique parlour lamp too. It has design characteristics that suggest the first quarter of the 20th century but the glass is lighter and finer than most oil lamps from that period. Also, Indian and Islamic influences were more prominent in the 19th century than in the 20th century. For these reasons we are going to sit on the fence and say circa 1900.
The antique parlour lamp has a brass center draft slip font complete with a wick, a flame spreader and a new chimney.
Overall, the lamp is in excellent condition. There are no signs of chips, cracks, paint loss or damage of any kind.
This lovely half shade antique parlour lamp will be a wonderful addition to your home or perhaps you would like to add it to your collection.
