This antique parlor oil lamp is still in as good a condition as the day it was made. The colours in the hand painted fuchsias are still vibrant and the dark green leaves set them off beautifully. The background colours are also vibrant without any signs of fading or paint loss.

An unusual feature of this Gone with the Wind parlor oil lamp is the rows of embossed petals around the top of the vase. This is the first time we have seen one like it. Occasionally we come across parlor lamps with a narrow band of embossing but nothing like this one.

The removable brass slip font is in good working order and is complete with a wick, flame spreader and a new chimney. It has a patent date stamped into the wick raiser post but the last digit is not clear. It reads 4.30.9 which generally refers to April 30 1896.

Despite the presence of this patent date, we believe it is more likely to have been made in the early 1900s.

Overall, this matching antique parlor oil lamp is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to your home or collection.
