Antique Custard Glass Finger Lamp
The font of this antique custard glass finger lamp is decorated with a lovely embossed pattern. It has a central band around the font with swags of ribbons, bows and leaves. There is also a continuous wave pattern around the upper edge and a rope edge at the bottom. The applied handle is completely plain.
This lovely little paraffin lamp is very attractive in daylight but when it is exposed to ultra violet light it exhibits the unmistakable glow of uranium glass.
We believe this antique custard glass finger lamp is English in origins and dates to around 1910.
Condition
Overall, this lovely little lamp is in very good to excellent condition.
There is a small amount of shelf wear on the base but because the base is slightly concave, the wear is confined to the outer edge.
The brass collar has a short section of the bottom that is distorted. We’re not sure how or why this has occurred but we do know that the collar is still firmly attached.
Finally, the kerosene lamp is fitted with a vintage burner and crimped top chimney and a new wick.
This delightful little antique custard glass finger lamp is sure to be a welcome addition to your home or your collection.
